Bellingrath Gardens & Home

Bellingrath was decorated beautifully for Halloween while we were there. The estate has well maintained grounds and walking paths that are peaceful and gorgeous! The house tour guide was very knowledgeable about the Bellingrath family and the history of the area. This was our first time visiting. We enjoyed it so much that we will go back at Christmas to see it all lit up!

It is a beautiful garden and estate, I've gone for many years when I visit Mobile with family from GA. This is the first year I've been in the early autumn and got to enjoy the pumpkin display. There is a path that goes through the property and quite a bit of it is not covered by shade so i definitely recommend sunscreen. During Christmas the lights are absolutely beautiful. The greenhouse was as pretty as I remember it. Sad to see the mums weren't in bloom yet. I guess that means I'll be back soon.

What can I say other than I am so happy we found out about Bellingrath Gardens by chance and just because we were passing by this area. The gardens are a jewel in my opinion and will probably be one of the highlights of our holiday. They are so well kept despite being huge! The area surrounding the house and chapel is also so great as well as the Bamboo tunnel and the boardwalk. Unfortunaly we were not able to visit the Asian garden because they were renovating it and at the same time there were alligators there. The staff at the premises is also super friendly and I can confidently say that this is a place I would 100% recommend for anyone!

This is an excellent place to tour whether you are a history buff, master gardener, or just want a beautiful, long walk. We thoroughly enjoyed the home tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. The only reasons we gave it 4 stars (and not 5) was we felt there could have been info, before the tour began, on the history of Mr Bellingrath to set it up. Also there were some arrows/signs to help guide you where to go but felt there should be more, or have an actual full garden tour, like they have in the house, available other than just for large groups. We also didn’t realize the extent of the walking till we started. It would be good the them to let you know at the beginning. They were setting up for a wedding that closed off some paths or had us walking around chairs/tables. That kind of lost some of the effect that the beautiful gardens create.

Had a great morning at Bellingrath! Loved seeing the house and learning the history. The gardens were gorgeous with lots of blooms, even in early September. Super friendly staff too. Definitely worth checking out!

It's absolutely beautiful here, it's so relaxing and peaceful. I would definitely recommend it, I plan on getting an annual pass and will be coming back often.

It's AWESOME !!! The grounds are beautiful !!!! Absolutely gorgeous!!! They have a little place to eat and get snacks. Lovely gift shop. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

We went to the Chinese Lantern Festival—it was gorgeous! We're going back during the day later this week to check out the gardens. 10/10 Update! We saw the gardens and the house during the day. This place is unbelievably beautiful. The gardens are stunning and so educational. The house is full of historical pieces, and they let you take photos, unlike The Bragg-Mitchell House. The rooms are amazing and really give you a feel of days gone by
