Indian Bazaar

Cuando un mexicano descubre las tiendas indias y decide experimentar con los sabores es algo fuera del orden mundial y una revolución en la cocina. El Indian Bazaar es la tienda más surtida y la atención es sin igual. Lo recomiendo.

The owners were extremely welcoming and super friendly. I went on a Friday and all the produce was not only fully stocked, but the produce was also fresh and yummy. I also grabbed some of the fresh samosa they sell and it was very fresh and amazing I also loved the filling a lot it tasted super delicious! I would definitely recommend to go here if you are looking for any regular produce or if you are looking to branch out and try some new foods. There’s a crazy large quantity and amount of options considering food and you’ll definitely find something that you will enjoy. I also wanted to attempt to make some authentic Indian food and asked the owners for some tips and they were incredibly nice and helped and find ingredients and told me the proper way to cook the dishes they were just super positive in all and I’ll definitely be coming back to this absolutely amazing place!! 🥰👌

My friend went into the store to get a few items by herself and the two clerks there followed her into the isle and pretended to “look at an item”. They were talking about her in another language(my guess is punjabi or hindhi) and thankfully I have taught her the word for girl/woman in that language for this exact reason. They were talking about her amongst each other. It was really weird and creepy considering there was no one else besides her in the store. If you’re a woman or a girl don’t go alone or at least call someone. Management needs to reprimand and make sure this doesn’t happen again. We barely ever come here cause of how creepy some of the clerks are. It was even more disgusting cause one of them was a sardar. Shame on both of them creeps. Do better.

BEWARE of expired and defective/moldy items being sold at this store!! I had been a regular customer and primarily shopped here even though their prices are generally higher than other Indian stores in the area, figured why not support our local business. Not anymore! I bought a pack of frozen Samosas last week which was moldy when opened (see pic). When I went to the store to inform them, the employee claimed they’ve never had any issues with this product and even brought two of the same items from the freezer to prove me wrong.. until one of the brand new packs also turned out to be moldy. The store owner was involved and despite this evidence, they refused to take responsibility for selling bad products and cited store policy of only accepting returns same day on frozen products. I would’ve dropped this issue if their own product in their own freezer didn’t turn out to be defective. At that point, it’s just negligence and hazardous business practice, especially on food items. Other reviewers have also noted expired products here, even we had a similar issue during their Diwali sale when some sweets smelled foul/old and we had to throw them out. Still I gave them benefit of the doubt and supported them but needless to say, I will no longer support a business which is negligent in nature, does not take responsibility for selling bad products, and isn’t fair to their customers. Customer service is as important as fair business practices, and this owner knows neither.

This place is a wonderful gem in Claymont! I always find new food items to try! The owners are so friendly and helpful! Visiting this store is a must! :)

Make sure before you baying some items most of items are expired and they rerated most of biscuits and cooking masala.

The owners are extremely nice and helpful and always have fresh samosas at the checkout! I love the variety of options they provide. They have allowed me to make authentic Indian cuisine with ingredients you cannot find at the chain grocery stores.

This store looks so beautiful! Do they carry chalta fruit (Elephant apples)? 😊
