I’ve never left a review for anything in my entire life but here we are- Nicole at Matt’s you have my heart! I came today for the first time with a grown out pixie cut- the grow out and recent cut elsewhere had resulted in a very medieval men’s vibe… Nicole kept my vision of a feminine longer bob in mind as she trimmed and neatened up and it’s freaking perfect. I have no words, I love it so much. Thank you!!

Hadn’t been back to a barber after many years of shaving my head and took a chance with Matt’s to support a local business and couldn’t be happier with the service I’ve received. Nichole has been fantastic and I will be continuing to give Matt’s my business as long as I have hair. Easy to see why Matt’s has been thriving for over a decade in Cumberland.

Nicole was absolutely fantastic. My toddler hates hates hates haircuts but has not had good experiences prior. Nicole is attentive to detail and even though my toddler was not a fan of getting a haircut, it came out amazing. Will definitely return

This past weekend my husband and my 2 kids got their haircuts for the first time at Matt’s. I recommend this place to him after asking in a Facebook group for recommendations and Matt’s place came up several times. He usually goes all the way to Providence and I wanted him to try a place closer to home. I wish I didn’t. By far this was the worst haircut he has ever had and he is too nice to write a review but I’m so upset of how bad the haircuts come out I felt I needed to write a review. He is not a complainer and neither am I, but this time he notice how bad the haircut was when he washed up, and he was very upset and is now wearing a hat at all times. The front was cut at an angle and the sides were not blended and the back was left long (all he asked was for a bit long on top and short on the sides for him and the kids). One my kids haircut was not done well either. His haircut was super short on top and on sides but for some reason the back was left long. Only one haircut was exactly what we asked for. My husband’s hairdresser was Amber and my son was Alex, the third haircut was done exactly how we wanted it and we cannot give the hairdresser credit because his name and picture was not on the website but he did a great job. Most likely we won’t be going back.

I had taken my son to another barber and they ruined his hair giving him a complete buzz cut. We went to see Alex at Matt’s on Mendon and he was so compassionate to my son. Alex has totally transformed my son’s hair back to the way he originally wanted it. Alex takes his time and is very meticulous. Need a haircut go see Alex you will not regret it !!!

They are extremely good at what they do. They become like good friends after a few visits. Reasonable parking easy to get an appointment. Definitely recommended booking a day or two in advance but if you choose no preference and barber you tend to be able to get a last min appointment.

I was in town visiting family and needed a haircut real bad. I went to Matt's on Mendon for 2 reasons, it was close by and the reviews were very good. I'm glad I picked Matt's over several others as the shop was clean, well appointed, and professional. Kristen did a great job and I am very pleased with the results and the price. I'll be back to Matt's the next time I visit my family in R.I.

My son (3) had the best experience with Alex. My son had gone to another (kids) hair stylist salon (not Matt’s in Mendon) a year ago and she cut him and he refused hair cuts for a long time. We took a chance because we saw great reviews with Alex and I can attest it was even better than I expected. Alex was on time, kind, fun, entertaining and my son held back a smile the entire time. Alex was gentle and clearly loves his job and kids. My son got in the car and said “I love my hair”! This is the first time he’s ever had a haircut he didn’t cry or dread. It’s also the nicest and best haircut he’s ever had. It was worth every penny. We will definitely be back. Thanks, Alex!

We had an amazing experience here with Alex today. My son (2.6) despises haircuts and it is a struggle he immediately cries whenever we mention it. Today we took a chance on a change and I am so happy we did. We were greeted so kindly when we walked through the door by the three people working at the time. Alex took his time to get Camden acclimated while he finished up on his prior customer. Then he allowed me to sit in the chair with Camden to get him comfortable. He was kind compassionate and empathetic towards Camden’s feelings. I am happy to say this is the first time he didn’t cry while visiting the hairdressers and we will definitely come back!
