We have the joy of living in Northern Door County, but often forget to take advantage of our local resources. Our Daughter and friends are visiting for Labor Day weekend and suggest a sunset cruise before dinner. Who can say no to their children even at 26? I for one am glad we did. The drive to Gill's Rock was as beautiful as always with plenty of parking close to the dock. The well organized and friendly crew welcomed us aboard and gave a brief safety overview. We had selected sitting on the bow, which was a great choice. We could hear the peaceful melodic guitar and singing of Frank Maloney and appreciate the gorgeous scenery. We enjoyed the snacks and adult beverages we brought along while chatting and taking in the scenic views of the Peninsula. You forget how beautiful Door County is from the water! The tour was the perfect length and the sunset did not disappoint. If you want to have a family friendly, peaceful and beautiful boat ride this tour cannot be beat. Race to Gill's Rock to take advantage before the season is over.

Highly recommend! We had a fabulous time, took the 2:30p trip out of Gill’s Rock and sat on the upper deck. It was slightly windy so we brought extra jackets and blankets to bundle up. The captain did a fabulous job of navigating the swells and reducing the splash! (Although it was a nice refresher when you did get a little spray!) The tour guide was very personable and knowledgeable, he shared a lot of stories and facts - some new discoveries! My favorite was the red, white, red alignments! Felt great to make it across Death’s Door!

Fantastic boat tour. Gills Rock is quieter and further north than places other tours depart from, and we appreciated the tranquility and opportunity to see the islands up close. Our captain Mark (who's a Washington Island resident & ferry boat captain) and tour guide Otto were knowledgeable, accommodating and could not have created a better experience. We did the lighthouse tour which most of us agreed was the most interesting route. The tour was filled with history, and Otto was able to answer all of our questions and added interesting details about the history of each island, and the wildlife, geology, and current conservation efforts. I'm looking forward to the next time I'm in Door County, and I'll definitely be taking another Death's Door tour ASAP. I'd recommend this tour to anyone. They had above deck and lower deck shaded seating, and allow you to bring snacks and drinks. 10/10 experience!

We loved this sunset cruise! The captain and narrator/musician were very professional and welcoming. They told us all about the area which we’d never seen before even though we’d been to Door County so many times. We hope to check out the other island day tours as well. Thanks for a great evening guys! 🌙🏝️🌅🎶 Family friendly and loved that you can bring your own drinks and snacks. 😃

Who doesn’t like a good boat ride? We took the lighthouse tour. The boat is wheelchair accessible and includes a cabin for anyone who can’t handle the elements, although the best seats are outside. Upper and lower deck seating is available. Tour guide continuously narrates the tour and fields questions from the audience.

I think this was the best part of our weekend in Door County! Boat has a variety of options for seating (indoors, sheltered, up top, and out front). The staff were gracious hosts (drinks and food are allowed and they made sure everyone was comfortable throughout the ride) and they answered any questions with deep knowledge of the area. The Captain turned off the engines for a peaceful sunset viewing with beautiful live guitar music for ambience as the sun dipped below the horizon. You might not luck out with a sunset as gorgeous as the one we saw every night, but the scenery was spectacular- an unforgettable experience not to be missed!

A delightful evening aboard the Yankee Clipper, touring the serene northern islands of Door County. We saw Plum Island and Pilot Island with a double rainbow on the horizon. A musician was on board, and the captain and crew made us feel welcome. We will take this tour again.

We went on the Sunset Music Cruise as a family of 7 (three kids and four adults). From start to finish the cruise was quite lovely. The musician did a great job interchanging music with local stories about the peninsula and islands. I will highly recommend that every one who visits Door County take advantage of this tour boat company. You will not be disappointed.
